Mark Barkman
Mark Barkman has been in the landscape industry since 1980 and is the President of Barkman Landscaping. 

Mark is a Michigan Certified Nurseryman, and an active member in the Michigan Nursery & Landscape Association, (MNLA) and the Genesee Area Landscape & Nursery Association, (GALNA).  In addition to many years of field experience, Mark’s landscape and irrigation design training comes through MNLA, Michigan State University Extension and countless landscape workshops and seminars.

Mark and his wife, Renee, have two daughters, Jourdin and Darbie.  When Mark is not working, he is an avid hunter and keeps busy with family activities.

Mark’s love for the green industry has allowed him the privilege of making Barkman Landscaping an industry leader.  Mark credits the Barkman Landscaping success to a dedicated and professional work force.

Ron Fricke
Ron Fricke is the senior member of the Barkman staff and is a Michigan Certified Nurseryman.  He has been with Barkman Landscape since 1987.

Ron has the distinction of having held every position in the company, from landscape laborer, to pesticide applicator to senior estimator.  Because of his variety of experience and knowledge, Ron has been nicknamed the “Answer Man” by his coworkers.  His primary responsibilities include commercial and residential landscape and irrigation design, estimating and sales.

Ron loves his work, but most important is his family.  Ron spends most of his free time with his son, James, and enjoys golf as well as many other outdoor activities.  He has enjoyed growing with the company, and looks forward to the new challenges ahead.

Laura McMahan
When you call our office, the first person that will greet you is Laura McMahan.  Laura is  our fantastic office assistant.  Her responsibilities, just to name a few, include scheduling and confirming staff appointments, typing proposals and contracts, ordering and scheduling materials for the landscape projects and servicing customer needs on the phone.

Laura and her husband, Tim, have two boys, David and Kurtis. Laura is a great asset to the company, and is one of the key players in providing clients with exceptional customer service. She has been with us since 1996.

Rob Herron
Rob Herron has been with Barkman Landscaping since graduating from Michigan Sate University with a degree in Landscape Horticulture in 2002. Rob is also a Michigan Certified Nurseryman.

Rob has climbed the ladder at Barkman, having started out as a landscape construction foreman. He is now a job superintendent, working with our installation crews in the field, as well as heading up our safety, maintenance and training programs. Rob absolutely loves his job and has always had a passion for both the artistic and the technical aspects of landscape construction.

In his free time Rob enjoys camping, biking and rafting, in addition to being an avid automotive enthusiast.

Brian Kintigh
Brian Kintigh is originally from the Grand Rapids area where he attended Grandville High School. He then attended Michigan State University and in 2005 graduated from the Landscape and Nursery program. Brian is also a Michigan Certified Nurseryman who loves working outdoors and creating landscapes. He really enjoys helping people beautify their surroundings. Outside of work, Brian loves spending time with his wife Amber, and his family and friends.
