Creating and maintaining landscapes is our business.  Whether the job is first-time landscaping around a new construction site, revamping an outdated or overgrown landscape, or taking care of the routine maintenance, we can help.

Maintaining your landscape is a sound investment. There are no “maintenance free” landscapes.  It takes time and knowledge to keep the growing trees and shrubs within their original boundaries.  You may have plantings that require special care to achieve their full potential, or your landscape may require periodic mulching, or need winterizing in the fall.  Whether you are looking for help one time, or all season long, we’ll be there for you.

Both irrigation and landscape management programs will be tailored to fit your needs.  You may want to take advantage of our extended programs offering special rates and services for one, two or three year contracts.  Contact Barkman for a landscaping maintenance estimate today.

Pruning – Your landscape may require four prunings depending on the type of plant material you have.  We prune for plant health, vigor, maximum flower development and desirable size of the plant.  Tree pruning over stepladder height will be contracted to a qualified and licensed tree service.

Remulching – The natural mulch used in your landscape will need top dressing as it breaks down.  Remulching will improve the appearance of the landscape, provide needed protection for the roots of the plant material, retain moisture and limit weed growth.  Certain natural mulches will repel some insects.

Fertilizing – Established plantings may require fertilizing at certain times of the year.  Optimum growth and flowering of our perennials can be attained with two timely applications. Trees and shrubs will benefit from a fall feeding.  “Deep root feeding” will be contracted to a qualified and licensed tree service.

Winterizing – Your landscape will benefit by preparing the plantings for the upcoming winter.  Some plants require deep watering just before freeze-up, while others will need protection by burlap or anti-desiccant sprays.  Winter protection is important to prevent unsightly damage caused by the drying winter winds.

Plant Replacement – Our landscape management program extends your replacement warranty on all plants excluding annual planting.  Plants that are severely damaged by insects, disease or environmental conditions will be evaluated on an individual basis with the plant’s value to the landscape the determining factor.  We reserve the right to substitute a different species of plant to better match the environment conditions if a recurring problem persists.

Brick Paver Sealing – We as well as Unilock Corporation, the leading concrete paver manufacturer in the world, recommend that your brick pavers be sealed to enhance their beauty as well as protect the surface from staining. If your pavers have become stained by rust, spotted by oil or grease or have lost their luster due to efflorescence (salt staining) we can help you. Our technicians have a wide variety of cleaners and sealers at their disposal to return your pavers to and beyond there original appearance. Contact us today and get on the path to restoring and protecting your paver investment.
